How to Measure Social Media Link Traffic Responsibly

Social networks report activity inside their platforms. A managed campaign link adds a consistent view of visits that reach your destination, but it cannot reveal a complete social-media audience.

Create a measurement structure

Use distinct links or consistent UTM values for channels, placements, and campaign variants. Give links useful internal titles and organize them with folders or tags so reports remain understandable later.

Know what a click contains

Goose.re may record the time, referrer, language, shortened subnet, user-agent-derived device, browser and operating system, plus incoming UTM parameters. Headers can be absent or reduced by browsers and apps. Goose.re does not store precise location or social-profile identity in click analytics.

Compare the right numbers

Total clicks describe visits to the link. Approximate daily unique visitors reduce repeat counting but do not identify people across days. A signup, sale, or other conversion must be measured at the destination.

Export with care

The dashboard supports filtered CSV exports. Treat exports as telemetry, restrict access to people who need it, and avoid combining fields to infer identities or sensitive traits.

Check current plan limits

Goose.re has Free and Enterprise team limits for links, custom domains, members, QR codes, and Bio Pages. Refer to the current product interface rather than assuming that every feature or unlimited usage is free.

Responsible measurement uses the smallest useful set of signals, documents uncertainty, and connects link activity with consented destination outcomes.
