Custom domains

Make your brand part of every link with a custom domain that is recognizable, consistent, and easy to share.

Why use a custom domain?

A custom domain gives your short links an address that belongs to your brand, such as go.yourcompany.com. Use the same domain across campaigns to give your audience a consistent, recognizable point of entry to your content.

Choose a short, readable domain that your audience can recognize across print, email, and social campaigns.

Connecting your domain

  1. Add your domain: Open Domains in your dashboard and select Add Domain. Enter the domain or subdomain you want to connect, such as links.mywebsite.com.
  2. Configure DNS: Open the DNS settings at the provider that manages your domain records.
    • For a subdomain such as links.domain.com, create a CNAME record pointing to goose.re. Follow your provider's format for the Name field: it may expect links or the full hostname.
    • For a root domain (such as mydomain.com), use the configured A / AAAA addresses below, or CNAME flattening if your DNS provider supports it. Do not combine a CNAME with A / AAAA records at the same hostname. No fixed IP addresses are published here. Contact support for root-domain setup, or connect a subdomain.
  3. Verify and activate: Remove conflicting records and disable DNS proxying for the hostname, then select Check DNS & activate in Goose.re. If verification is still pending, allow time for the DNS changes to take effect and try again.
  4. Confirm HTTPS: Once verification succeeds, Goose.re automatically provisions an SSL certificate. Wait for activation to complete, then open a link on your domain to confirm it loads over HTTPS.

Choosing a default destination

Visitors may open your domain directly, without a short code, at an address such as https://links.yourwebsite.com/. Choose a default destination to make that visit useful.

Configure the root address to redirect to your main website or open a Goose.re bio page. If no destination is configured, visitors see the domain's fallback page.
